Muay Thai

Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand and historically is one of the most brutal defense systems on earth. With the use of gloves, Thai fighters enter the ring and exchange punches, kicks, elbows and knees trying to force the opponent into submission or knock their opponent out.

Almost all techniques in Muay Thai use the entire body movement, rotating the hip with each kick, punch, elbow and block. The rotation of the hips in Muay Thai techniques focues on core muscles such as abdominal muscles and surrounding muscles. This is very distinctive and is what sets Muay Thai apart from other martial arts.

Students train techniques on such things as the heavy bag, focus mitts, Thai pads, in shadow boxing and in timing sparring.  From day one of your training you will learn how to effectively throw a punch, block and evade strikes, kick with power, and how to throw elbows and knees with precise mechanics.

This class will increase your confidence, mental toughness, conditioning and will to win attitude.  Training is always done in a safe relaxed environment with all the mandatory training equipment i.e. mouth piece, gloves, and shin guards.

This class is mandatory for those interested in competing in MMA events!
